Yes, these are covered as standard on all our policies. If you have something very valuable you should make sure this is insured elsewhere as our policies have limits. You will also not be covered for bicycles, sports gear whilst in use, or mobile or smart phones. You should ensure these are covered elsewhere.

IPT is Insurance Premium Tax. It’s a government tax of 20% that has to be applied to all insurance policies. IPT is included on all our policies.

Cancellation cover for single trip polices starts from the day you purchase the policy. All other cover starts from the first day of your trip. If you purchase an annual multi-trip policy cancellation cover commences from the start date of the policy, which is not necessarily the date you purchase.

Travel insurance covers you for the worst-case scenarios when you’re travelling. If you don’t take it, you could be stuck with large medical bills if you fall ill or fall over. If you have to cancel your holiday, you don’t want to lose everything you’ve paid out for it – travel insurance can help with that too. If you lose personal possessions or they are stolen from you’ll be able to claim back your losses once you’ve reported it to the police.

Yes it is. Up to a depth of 18 metres is covered as standard if you are qualified or you are diving with an instructor.

You must live in the UK and be registered with a GP in the UK. In addition you must be 84 or under if you wish to purchase an annual multi trip policy.

Make sure that you are aware of the benefits and limitations of your policy and that you have your policy number with you. It is worth typing in the emergency assistance number into your phone so you can have it handy should you need whilst you are away. The number is +44 (0)1273 071784.

The policy covers cancellation due to the death, serious illness of injury of close relatives (Mother, father, sister, brother, wife, husband, partner, son, daughter, including fostered/adopted son or daughter, grandparent, grandchild, parent-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, step-parent, step-child, step-brother, step-sister, or legal guardian) or anyone person you have arranged to travel or stay with during your trip.

No - Your insurance would not be valid if your trip has commenced.

We hope you like your policy but if you’re not happy with it once you’ve taken it out you have 14 days in which to cancel it. We’ll give you a full refund as long as you haven’t travelled and no claims have been made. To cancel your policy please contact us by emailing customerservices@getcover.com. After the 14 days have elapsed you can still cancel your policy but you will not receive a refund.
